Green Steps focuses on reforestations and ocean waste recovery across four continents and uplift community livelihoods while doing so. The use of technology helps to create a platform to fund these activities.
Environmental Impact
About 12 million hectares of forest on Sumatra have been cleared in the past 22 years, a loss of nearly 50%.
Every year for the past three decades, another 19,000 hectares of mangroves have been replaced for aquaculture and increasingly, for oil palm plantations.
Mangroves provide protection from storm surges that can cause inland flooding, destroying homes and crops.
